Payment for your license is due within 30 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a pet over the age of 4 months or within 30 days of moving into Broward County. Non-residents who have a pet in the County for at least 3 months must register the pet within 30 days of arrival.
You may license by mail and pay for your license with a check or money order made payable to "Board of County Commissioners – Animal Care Division.”
You may license online and pay for your license with a major credit card. A convenience fee will apply per transaction. Multiple pets can be licensed in one transaction.
You may license in person at participating veterinary clinics or at Broward County Animal Care. Please bring a copy of your pet's current rabies certificate and microchip number.
- A current rabies vaccination certificate is required if the rabies vaccination on file has expired. Please check your certificate for correct address and pet information.
- A pet’s microchip number is required for the lower license fee, if not already on file.
Your paperwork will not be returned to you, so please retain a copy of your documents for your records.
To license by mail:
