Licensing Ordinance

All dogs and cats 4 months of age and older must be licensed with Broward County within 30 days of being in the county.

Due Date

Payment for your license is due within 30 days of the expiration of your current license. If you are licensing for the first time, you must purchase a license within 30 days of obtaining a pet over the age of 4 months or within 30 days of moving into Broward County. Non-residents who have a pet in the County for at least 3 months must register the pet within 30 days of arrival.

License Term

Licenses are valid until the next anniversary of the rabies vaccination or the expiration of the rabies vaccination, whichever comes first. Licenses cannot be valid beyond the expiration of the vaccination.
